Filter media
Biofil 135</span
Biofil 135 is made from recycled polypropylene offering a surface area of 135m²/m³ and the highest voidage (95%) of our filter media range.
With purpose-designed features, Biofil 135 is an excellent carrier media for the biofilm attachment and the ideal alternative to traditional mineral-based media. It can replace all of the mineral-based media to improve system efficiency. The surface textures enable biomass to adhere more effectively to reduce loss of media due to installation procedures.
The media eliminates problems relating to clogging and puddling associated with gravel, slag and clinker filter beds. Traditional biofilters using stones, slag or coke can also be easily be clogged after some time of operation.
Modern technical solutions allow very high reduction of biogenic compounds, and reactivation and modernisation of old type biofilter treatment plants using modern plastic media is much cheaper than reconstruction of the treatment plants.
