Filter media for Wastewater
Improve wastewater treatment processes with filter media designed specifically to provide optimum biological filtration.
Filter media for Aquaculture
High surface area filter media for wastewater treatment in aquaculture systems. Ideal for nitrogen removal and BOD reduction.
Filter media for Odour Control
Eliminate odour issues with high surface area media to maximise performance of chemical and biological scrubbers
Patented biomedia technology
With the philosophy of increased surface area, innovative geometry and sustainability, the design of our biomedia is based on years of research. We have patented biomedia technology and most recently, have invested significantly in the development of our latest generation filter media.
Maximise performance of biological treatment processes
The structure and surface textures are designed specifically to provide a large protected surface area and high voidage for active biofilm attachment and optimum biological treatment performance e.g. for biological wastewater treatment (municipal and industrial), aquaculture systems and odour scrubbers.
Eco-friendly & Sustainable
We offer five different media made from 100% recycled materials. Our filter media promote efficient biological wastewater treatment. Maximising performance whilst reducing energy requirements. All our media are recyclable at end of life, contain zero halogens, zero contaminants, and contribute zero microplastics.
High surface area & high voidage
Choose from filter media with up to 1000 m²/m³ surface area and up to 95% voidage. High surface area is not the only factor to consider when selecting a filter media, that’s why we offer media with a variety of surface area-to-voidage ratios, so there is a perfect media for every treatment setup.
Manufactured in the UK
We are proud members of Made in Britain. We manufacture and delivery our media all around the globe from our factory in Luton, UK. The filter media are injection-moulded or extruded in recycled or virgin polypropylene (PP) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE).
Perfect for new builds or retrofits
With specific design features to increase the efficiency of biological treatment processes, the Warden Biomedia filter media range are an excellent choice to retrofit and upgrade existing treatment plants, as well as, for newly built treatment plants.
Get technical support
We have extensive filter media knowledge and experience in-house, allowing us to help select the best filter media for your application, no matter your biological treatment set up or capacity. We’re able to support with process design calculations to ensure that the media selection offers optimum performance.
Biomedia will never need to be replaced
All of our filter media are strong, durable, with high chemical and corrosion resistance. Unlike traditional media which degrades over time and needs replacing every few years, our media are extremely durable and have a life-expectancy of 20+ years.
Our research partnership with Cranfield University
The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme was partially funded by Innovate UK and was a 3-year partnership between Cranfield University and Warden to embed cutting-edge wastewater treatment knowledge and capabilities in Warden and allowed for the development of our brand new, lastest generation, sustainable filter media – Biopebble.
